Botanic Art and Illustration workshops

Botanic Art and Illustration workshops are being held at the Artroom in Footscray.

The first one on May the 20th and if you have missed that one, the second workshop is booked in for July the 22nd, also a Sunday.

For those that can’t commit to weekly classes or live to far away this is a fantastic opportunity to be introduced to Botanic Illustration.

This intensive 1-day course is an introduction via pencil and watercolour. Students will begin to develop skills in outline drawing, tonal work and rendering of surfaces, basic colour work and

paint application.

I am happy to announce that the winner of the Botanic Art exhibition, people's choice is:

"Poppies" by Le Hang.

Le has won a voucher from "West Art" art shop in Footscray.

The feedback on the show has been great and I am looking forward to repeat the show for next year.

We have had newspaper articles and even sales.

I would like to thank all those people involved making this show happen and wish everyone a fantastic holiday season.

Greeting Cards and Students Exhibition

From the 3rd of December a number of students will be showing a selection of their work at The Yarraville Community centre.

It's the first exhibition for most of them and we would welcome anyone to come to the opening on Saturday December the 3rd, at 2pm.

The exhibition is held at the:

Yarraville Community Centre

59 Frances Street, Yarraville

Opening Hours: 9am -4pm, Mon - Fri & Sat 10am - 4pm.

A number of greeting cards will also be for sale. Students have been re producing their work into greeting cards for personal use, but also to raise money for charity. Some samples attached!

Beginners Weekend Workshop - Botanic Illustration

For those that can’t commit to weekly classes or live to far away this is an opportunity to get started with Botanic Illustration.

This intensive 2-day course is an introduction to botanic art via pencil and watercolour. Students will begin to develop skills in outline drawing, tonal work and rendering of surfaces, basic colour work and paint application.

The cost of the workshop includes drawing materials, paint, watercolour paper and brushes. Coffee and Tee is available but students will need to take their own lunches.

The workshops are held in the Art Studio, Yarraville Community Centre, Yarraville.

Cost: $215.00. Full Payment required 1 week prior to start of course.

Total Fee will be refunded if class has to be cancelled.
